Question Engine missing

This past weekend I washed the bike and now the engine is missing at all RPM's. It is also backfiring on deceleration, not bad, but still enough to bug me. Any input would be appreciated.

Well at this point I guess we know it's water related!
Do you have a plug in ECM module like a Power Commander or something whose connections could have been breached by water?

Buy a can of compressed air and start going through all your quick disconnects and opening them and blowing them out....just a thought...

Let her sit in the sun for the day ?

I'd go with plan "A" first.

if you have a power comander ck the connectors for water as stated. Fill the connectors with dielectric grease when you put them back together

Another good idea is to completely dry the bike and connectors withv a leaf blower. Remove covers, seat and ensure that ECM and all electrical connections are dry. Use leaf or hair dryer for this. I have also learned that not being too liberal with water stream/hose spray that your symptoms will be reduced. You got something a little wetter than it needed to be.
Keep us posted.

I wouldn't. Leaf blowers do not filter air so you are drying the bike with dirt laden high speed air.

and that BLASTER thingy is just the greatest...The air volicity that that thing throws is about (here I go getten in trouble again) "In My Opinion" 10 times faster and more concentrated. It's blows water 100% off, gone, bye bye, from every nook and cranny.

It's actually pretty amazing. BUT BACK TO YOUR problem.......

Howed water get in there in the first place?

1) Don't shoot a water hose streem at your bike.
2) Wash it with a bucket of water and soap and rinse it with a GENTLE flow of water.

Don't shoot water at the bike like you would a car.....

I'll bet he rides in dirt laden high speed air, too...LOL....Been blowing my bikes off with a leaf blower for over 10 years and had zero problems.

Back on topic....I'll bet you have a leaky plug wire that got wet.

Is your gas cap loose? I filled my tank up with water once while washing. Lots of missing and backfiring.
