How many intercom users?
I'm thinking of buying a second set of stereo/intercom headphones off of ebay. I know its personal preference but just wondering how many of you geezer gliders use the intercom riding two up? Is it worth it or too much trouble?
I use it all the time (two up) I have found when it comes to intercoms / headset and speakers... you get what you pay for... to get really good - you have to cut loose with $$$$ I use autocom ... it ain't cheap but they work
When we are on long road trips we do use it quite a lot. I am usually saying "Are you still back there?" as my wife just becomes jello on our trips. She don't say much just sits back, enjoys the scenery and lets her mind wander.
Buy something other than Harley stuff as it sucks. I have J&M and love it. You WILL notice a difference.

When I told my wife that I would get her a small slate and some chalk it went over like a lead balloon. So I just ordered a little cheap set made by Nady. As Harley0711 said, you get what you pay for and he's right. I've heard from many others that Autocom is the best. But I'm willing to gamble on a $70 set just to see of it serves the purpose. As far as quality, it looks like a kid's walkie talkie but hell, I'm communicating with my wife a whole 2 inches away from me. I should have it in in a day or two. I'll let you know weather it is worth it or not.
The idea of the intercom is a good one and has added to our experience, both riding two-up and also when we ride with our group. It adds the dimension of helping me see things along the road that I wouldn't normally get to see, as I'm paying more attention to the road, traffic, etc... and she tells me of things she sees as we are riding. When we are riding in a group -- most of us have CB's -- it adds to the fun when she knows what is going on around us.
I would agree that the HD headsets are not the best investment -- but have found that for our 1/2 helmets, the Sierra headsets are great. Find them at http://www.sierra-mc.com/products.asp?id=82 They also have other hard-to-find devices you might find useful.
Hope that helps!!

Except for commute, we ride 2 up all the time. We love the intercom. I love my wifes voice and we do talk. Sounds a little mushy but we are newly weds (22 years and counting).
