Knee Surgery..can't ride

It all depends on what the extent of the "repair" was. If all they did was go in and do a debridement procedure a.k.a. clean-up then you should be fine by the time Thunder Beach rolls around with some daily ice treatments, frequent range of motion and light exercise. If the orthopedist actually repaired the meniscus, meaning they sutured them (you would know this because you would likely be in a knee brace and have been told to stay off of your leg for the next 6-8 weeks) then no you will not be ready to ride for Thunder Beach. Navypt the doc said I had a flap tear. I've been keeping the ice on and elevated and hope to get on it soon. Iz,that is a cool doc you've got. Mine doesn't ride but he's a real good guy.Thanks to all.

I had my left knee scoped yesterday. Torn meniscus. I hope I'll be good to go by Thunder Beach in late April. Have any of you had this surgery and how long was it before you could ride. The weather is about to be RIGHT and here I sit with an elevated leg complete with ice pack. So what do you guys think...How long?

I had meniscus surgery one week ago.Did they reattatch the cartilage or clean it out?Mine they did the latter.In a few days I can ride a bicycle,was told by physical theoropist is a good exercise for that,and hopefully in a month I'll be on my motorcycle.If they reattatch it's a longer and more delicate healing procedure.Be patient you'll be riding soon.
