It all depends on what the extent of the "repair" was. If all they did was go in and do a debridement procedure a.k.a. clean-up then you should be fine by the time Thunder Beach rolls around with some daily ice treatments, frequent range of motion and light exercise. If the orthopedist actually repaired the meniscus, meaning they sutured them (you would know this because you would likely be in a knee brace and have been told to stay off of your leg for the next 6-8 weeks) then no you will not be ready to ride for Thunder Beach. BTW the PT in my user name is for Physical Therapist so you know what my credentials are. Hope this helps.

I had meniscus surgery one week ago.Did they reattatch the cartilage or clean it out?Mine they did the latter. In a few days I can ride a bicycle, was told by physical theoropist is a good exercise for that, and hopefully in a month I'll be on my motorcycle. If they reattatch it's a longer and more delicate healing procedure.Be patient you'll be riding soon.

He just cleaned it out,no repair. It was in the inner 2/3 with no blood supply. I just had it yesterday and it's feeling pretty good today. I've just laid up in my trusty chair with it iced and elevated.
