Default real gas

Just finished my second full tank of 100% gas . I believe it runs better. It definitely
runs cleaner as all the soot in the pipe ends is gone. I'm no scientist, but it seems to
me if the pipes are cleaner then there is less waste going into the air. I for one will
keep buying real gas as much as possible.

Can't find non-ethanol gas where I live otherwise I'd use it.

Starting to see it more & more around here.Same price or in some instances lower
than the ethanol blend. No brainer to me.

The Conoco/Phillips station about a mile from my home as a sign on their pumps saying "No corn products added to our fuel". However it is about 15 cents higher than the corn added variety.

Hmmm, we have oxygenated fuel during the winter months but I had heard that premium doesn't have that in the blend altho they do have the sticker on the pumps all three grades. My gas mileage has gone down a little during the winter, tells me the premium does have MTBE in it.

MTBE is methanol based not ethanol. All gas has ethanol in it despite the claims there are no more ethanol free fuels due to contamination of tankers and storage tanks.

Are you talking about winter fuel with MTBE added or the 10% ethanol added to all gas. No matter which type your talking about both additives burn cleaner than 100% gas.

Burning ethanol additive fuel since the bike was new I've always had black in the end
of the pipes till now , since I've changed fuel. My buddy mentioned yesterday how much
cleaner my exhaust was than his. We have the same exhaust & engine setup. Makes me
wonder if ethanol free gas is cleaner,as I have read.

Same here, no choice. My mileage has gone down a few MPG since the change in Oct. '08, and performance should be decreased since ethanol produces 30% lower BTU's than gas, but after over a year I can't say I can feel it. When I take road trips I do get better mileage in areas that sell real gas.

Supposedly ethanol produces lower ozone emissions, which is the problem in this area that caused the EPA to mandate E10. I don't know its effect on other forms of pollution (CO2, NOx, etc.) but would imagine it is no worse or it would be more controversial. What I don't like about it is the mileage hit, which means I'm paying more for fuel since I'm not going as far for every gallon and the price is the same.

Also, it means that 10% of fuel consumption goes to renewable domestic sources rather than overseas to foreign interests. It has its pros and cons, but if I had a choice I'd go with real gas.

The use of MTBE in gas has declined in recent years because of its questionable effect on the environment. It's a suspected carcinogen and mixes easily with water, and a leaky underground gasoline storage tank can contaminate water supplies. Since many municipalities have banned its use, ethanol has become the favored oxygenating additive, and I don't think it is used in my area at all anymore.
