Humm! I have an '09 Ultra Classic that didn't come with a tool kit. What's up with that?
go back to your dealer, all the fairing bikes should come with a tool kit. sparse that it may be.... but it's an 89 dollar item, you paid for it, you should get it.
The most important item in my tool kit is an airline bottle of Jack Daniels. Cause if and when my bike does not do what I want it to this will calm me down enough to be able to fix it with out killing someone.
I have a snap on kit for HD, small 12v compressor w/ light, tire plugs, zip ties, anything more than that I have a cell phone and a trailer at home. I've been with a friend when his battery took a dump and the hog roadside assistance didn't do anything for him (3 pm on a sunday). Had to rig up a lawn mower battery in his saddlebag.
Hi Gang,
Just picked up my '09 Ultra. This is my first HD and I'm very excited about it. One of my first tasks is to put together a travel tool kit.
I'd welcome any information, suggestions or "must have" items for the kit. I'm also thinking of buying the small Stop and Go 12 volt air compressor. Is anyone using this? Is it a decent unit?
Thanks for any input you can offer.
Cheers, Mark

When I bought my bike I was told, back when Harley's needed a tool kit you did not get one. Now you really don't need a tool kit and you get one. That was from the guy at the stealer. I have not had to use the tool kit on my bike but did on a friend of mine.
actually came across a makeup bag. its heavy denim with a zipper its about 8" long 4-5" wide 6"in deep. i carry anything i can fit in it. torx bits, flashlight. digital tire guage, ZIP TIES is a must. all sizes of wrenches. a small screw driver with one of those extra bits in the top. cant remember the size but a 10 or 12 point 1/4 socket for the brakes. volt gauge, tire plug repair kit. have a small compressor but need to find a smaller one. oh allen wrenches to. probably missed a few items but thats a start
