$982 for a tank ready to paint??? Are you nuts? when you can upgrade to a 08 tank for a couple hundred and get a better seat in the mix? total out of pocket of $600 sure beats $982 plus paint any day!

hey! So did you do the 6 gallon mod!? I'm growing interested in the aesthetics of the stretched tanks, only to find that most of the aftermarket industry has abandoned the pre 2007 market.... looking like I might have to refer back to this thread to fit what I want on my 04 e-glide.... smh
I installed this 7.2 gallon tank on my 2002 Electra Glide. I had to get someone to weld my old fuel pump mount to the the bracket that came with the tank and weld and my old tank's fuel line bung into the bottom of the new tank. Once the finish welding was completed the tank looked like to was a factory tank. The only issue that I have is trying to extend the fuel level float so that the fuel gauge will register the correct amount of fuel in the tank.

7.2 gallon stretched gas tank a 5 in stretched saddlebags.
Demon Cycles on eBay have them for $250. You might have to modify it, depending on your bike model. Thankfully for me my ild tank was damaged and I could just swap out what I needed onto the new tank and then sealed it.

7.2 Gallons. Reading this made my **** hurt.
do not have any idea but just woundering why ,on a 5 gal tank at even running highway speeds I can get 125 - 150 on a tank then I am ready to get off ang get some blood back in the back side any way so just woundering why the 6 gal
Very true, some of us have to stop a lot earlier, but can get two stops on a bigger tank! In addition, there are some parts of the world (including the USA in my experience) where gas stations don't always turn up when we most need them!
