2. Were you getting a dyno tune or reflash? For sure, the stage 1 (a/c and mufflers) on your 88 wasn't what you needed for a 95" with new cams. And a Stage II is what HD does with a 95" BB w/ SE 203 cams IIRC.
3. No reason for the head gasket blowing unless you put some significant miles on the 95" build running that Stage I 88 download. You were running lean (i.e hotter) with the 95" build without any adjustment to add fuel.

I got the bike back after my bud tore it apart and checked it out and put it back together. He said the cylinders looked good and the only thing he found was one of the head bolts that might have been not as tight as the others. He replaced the head gaskets and put it back together. He rode it and checked it out and said he did not see anything wrong. I am wanting to check my cylinder pressure and see what I find.
I rode it home and put a heat gun on it just as I got home. Rear cylinder 300* and front was at 275*. I just don't know if that is too hot? Most say it isn't. But what blew the head gasket. Think I will check some other buds bikes for what temp they are running. I am going to check my cylinder pressure and see where that is when I can find the right procedure.
Hard to say what caused the blown H-gasket. I would chock it up to experience and move on to getting it tuned. The heat (300) is too hot. You need it tuned.

Got cylinder pressure checked, 160 on front 150 on rear, also check two other buds bike for head temp. One had oil cooler and running syn oil he check 280 front and 295 rear, the other bud checked 290 front and 310 rear. Both were after running down the road bringing it to operating temp.
I feel good about the cylinder pressure and after checking the heat on others bikes I fell pretty good about head temp.

Any ideas will help!!
I just had my '06 ultra tuned and now have two maps, one for the front cylinder and one for the rear. I'm running a PC III. He set my rear cylinder richer I assume to help with heat. It definately runs cooler and I picked up 8 HP and 9 TQ with the tune. I don't know where you're located but this guy is in Newnan,Ga and has tuned for many years. Knows his stuff.
