Kendon 2 bike trailer with 1 bike in tow?
Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the Kendon 2 bike trailer carrying only 1 bike on the highway. Does it sway and look unstable at highway speeds mor can you really carry just one touring bike with no issues on the 2 bike trailer?
they claim it can carry one bike with no effect on sway or handling, but they sell them and once I have purchased it I'd be stuck with it. I've searched old posts but everyone just seems to use the single bike model with 1 bike or the 2 bike model with 2 bikes..
Don't want to be going down the highway with one bike mounted with the trailer swaying back and forth behind me..
here's a link to the trailer

This being said, I don't like the Kendon. Its ramp is junk. It's flimsy and too narrow. I'd prefer a much wider ramp so that you can ride the bike onto the trailer and put your feet down if you need to.
The placement of the spare wheel is goofy too. It's located under the trailer!! Just hope you won't have a flat tire when the trailer is fully loaded cause you'll have to unload it to access the wheel. <sigh>
I think the main advantage of Kendon is the fact that it folds and can be stored vertically in a garage. In terms of hauling, there are much better trailers out there, IMO.

Love my duel kendon.... Never a problem pulling one bike. What i do is put bike on one side going and other side returning just to even out wear of the trailer. Also i remove the spare tire, and put it elsewhere on vehicle only because its a PITA to get to if you have to get to it!!!! :-)....

Nope no problem hauling just one bike on the dual. Lmao how dare you mention a trailer on Harley forum, don't you know real bikers don't trailer their bikes???? JK, LMAO, Just know it's gonna be said eventually.
i know.. i rode out to Wisconsin for the Harley 105th from just north of boston and made it in 2 days, but I think that's my limit, plus rode everyday out there. I'm headed to Sturgis this year and don't want to do 2k each way, want to get there then ride everyday..
Anyone here use the droptail trailers?

I have knockoff version of Kendon dual. Can't tell the difference except the name.
Moved one of the rails to the center and use it to pull one bike. Just do not like pulling using the side rails even though it does have torsion axle. No problems with sway. Am thinking of removing the center rail and using bike chock in the center. Will probably set the chock back slightly because tongue weight seems heavy. I understand that heavy tongue weight will stop sway so will play with positioning of the chock.
Have never pulled two bikes with the trailer, am sure it would work, but would be tight fit. Would not want to load 2 dressers on it because there is not much wiggle room when loading and positioning.
Got rid of the ramp that came with the trailer. Now have two aluminum ATV ramps that I bump together and gives me enough room to ease the bike own. Ramps have slight hump in them so that FXDL will not get stuck. Do not ride it up...think wiggle room.
Another mod is had friend to weld side bars to strap the ramps on when I travel. Really works out great and makes side rails on the trailer.
Is there a better trailer for hauling bike? Probably but this one stands up in the garage and takes up little space. Plus, it does not get used much since I prefer to ride. Best part of all "it is paid for".
