My wife was riding with me Sunday and pointed out that my right rear speaker was not working. I don't have any idea how long it hasn't been working as I don't get much sound up front from them.
I switched them out from right to left and the right speaker still doesn't work. That eliminates the speaker itself. Any ideas as to what is wrong? Is it possible for one channel to go bad in the radio?
Thanks for the help in advance!
Sounds like a bad connection along the line somewhere. Best thing to do is start from the speaker and work back towards the head unit and check each connection as you go.
The bike is a 2007 Ultra Classic.
There are no connections between the radio and the speaker.
The harness comes out of the back of the radio, under the tank, under the seat to the rear speaker pod. All along the way it is wrapped in one and some places two plastic wraps.
Use this procedure from the HD2007 Electrical Diagnostic Manual to access your radio's diagnostic display:
"Press the eject button to remove any CD that might be in the unit. Then, while depressing and holding any two softkeys (buttons 1-6), turn the ignition switch to ON. Once the H-D logo is displayed, the system automatically performs a complete switch check, scans for current DTCs, and then displays the radio diagnostic display. Release the softkeys
only after the radio diagnostic display appears."
If there are any trouble codes, the screen will display the code and brief description of the problem. HTH.
