Default Stupid ?

Alright, for those of you that see me post, you know I can be all over the place. With that said, I'm trying to decide what to do next. I've added the 4point docking kit, passenger backrest and lowered the rear and front one inch with progressive kit's. I've been looking at seats, ( Danny Gray Big seat) and bars, ( hell I'm not sure yet). Well, now I'm looking at doing a stage 1 air cleaner. If I go with the stage 1 air cleaner and nothing else at this time, Exhaust and TTS Master tune to come later, do I have to have my engine re-mapped, or can I wait until I add exhaust?

You need to re-map whenever you change the way the motor breaths.

I would say that exhaust can be done without messing with the EFI but not so sure that I'd add more intake air without jacking up the fuel.

There are a few threads that explain this situation. Some gve the advise that the computer automatically calibrates the fuel air mixture.

This is what I believe. The O2 senors read what mixture is coming out of the motor and the computer adjusts it to whatever the mixture the computer wants.

When people change to K&N air filters on cars, you don't have to readjust the computers on them.

HD's run lean from the factory - you're OK w/pipes, but would recommend re-map if you change the breather. Another option is to add a tuner & adjust yourself. Cheers!

I thought the O2 sensors could only make minor adjustments like for a change in altitude. I didn't think they could compensate for a freer flowing intake.

my wrench told me u can change mufflers all day with out remapping. when u mess with the air intake then u need to use a tuner. when u take in more air u run leaner. just my 2 cents

YOu can make ONE air change (mufflers or air filter or ??) with no re-map. Make two and you need to re-map.
