why is it when you try to sell something on here people just try to low ball you ? i know when you buy something there is always going to be a little money lost but it always seems like people just basically want you to give it to them !! just wondering ..........
Same reason some of the retailers on here tell you how good there product, then have their friends reply, then you spend more than the product worth mailing it back and forth
I guess that's just the nature of people. If they bought it, it's the greatest and they want top dollar for it when they sell. If you own it and they want it, it's not worth much because it's used. might have something to do with IQ as well.

Guess it depends on what you were trying to sell, how much you were asking for it and what the offer was ? You post this and then don't give much information. Did you buy something for full retail price and are trying to sell it using that as a reference price ? I know that I can get it for 20% off at certain online dealerships and that most dealerships have 15-20% off sales all the time and I'd want to use that price as as a starting reference price to determine a "used" price. The old saying is "it's worth what you can get for it."
I seen ads for MC saying I paid X for it new, now I'm selling it for Y. But if you look at kbb or NADA, they are 5k over the value. Those people think that they paid $$ over MSRP, those costs should be recouped. But they shouldn't, doesn't matter what they paid the dealer for it. Especially in this market where people may need to dump their bikes just to pay the bills.
When I was a kid and went to a used bike shop to buy a used bicycle, the guy wanted $20.00 I said it's got a scratch and a broken pedal, he said if it didn't have a scratch and a broken pedal it would be a new bike and I'd be selling it for $40.00 dollars. So that's the way i look at things on here, If they were perfect they would be selling them for more. So I do some research and find what are the going prices and what problems or defects the one for sale has and make my own decision. unless it says "or best offer" then I will make an offer. I'm kinda picky so I usually just pay a few more dollars and buy a new one.
