Default Stripped Primary Chaincase threads

Changing fluids I drained primary chaincase fluid put on new gasket ring and was tighting bolt back in it would never tighten. Removed plug and found pieces of metal on the bolt itself. I guess the metal came from the case itself. How screwed I'm I and how do I fix please.

Go to any auto parts store and buy helicoild. You will drill out the hole, thread a helicoil in and then you can put the plug right back in. Don't forget the red loc tite. http://www.emhart.com/products/helicoil.asp

Got it. This is going to be a bitch I can tell. Maybe something for the dealer unfortunately. I guess I screwed up big time. After watching the video I wonder if this wasn't already done by the dealer beacuse the metal pieces sure seemed to flake off not hard metal.

You could always have someone else do it for you. It is not that difficult. Just put the bike up on a lift and make sure none of the metal goes inside the primary. It should take about 10 minutes.

Went to the dealer got a new bolt put it in and worked like a charm. I have no idea what the heck. The tip of the bolt that goes in first looked like it was smoothed off a little, new bolt looked a little different. I'll see what happens in 5000 mile with next fluid change. I have a 2008 Ultra 25 months old and 55,000 miles. I got tired of paying the dealer so I've done the last 3 fluid changes including today. Also changed fork oil, air filter and plugs.
