Default Sonora Pass

Has anybody ridden over Sonora Pass, CA? What do I need to know? Any pre-cautions?

Thanks

Hwy 108 is a great road - very scenic and lots of long sweepers on the west side of the pass. The eastern side of the pass is very tight and slow going but lots of fun.
Not too much traffic and no gas for about 70 miles.
When are you going? - its probably still buried under snow.

Right now there is 8 feet of snow on top of the pavement. 108 also known as Sonora
Pass is almost 10,000 feet elevation

It is a beautiful ride when it's open. Maybe in late June? You should check www.dot.ca.gov before heading out for road conditions and closures.

Great ride. My preference is from east to west by far.

I get two weeks off in early August, I figure it will be open by then, I have relatives in Modesto, and Reno. I figure to zig zag my way up the Sierras. From the maps it looked like a good road, thanks for the dope guys.
