Default Sert & tuning questions

All,

I am looking to remove the screaming eagle performance pipes on my bike with a new set of Reinhart's and the local HD shop is telling me in addition to that I'll need a SERT and dyno tuning. However, when I've spoken to others about using say a Fuel Moto setup with a PCIII that comes loaded they don't say you have to have the bike dyno tuned! I am not looking to race or anything weird like that...just want the Reinhart sound and the bike running a little cooler! That's it!

Additionally, (and perhaps someone can dispell this rumor) is dyno tuning hard on your bike? I've heard they run the bike at high rpms for an extended period of time during the tuning phase.

Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

No reason you can't go with the Fuel Motto/PCIII setup. I'd call Jamie at Fuel Motto and tell him what your setup is and he can give you your options. You may be able to get away without a tune with a map from Jamie. Give him a shout.

I am looking to do something similar.
I have V&H oval and am doing the V&H Fuelpak and Ness "Big Sucker" air cleaner.
The guy at J&P Cycles said for my kind of riding (flat Florida) i do not need anything more than that.
