Thinking of adding the mid frame air deflectors. Are they worth the money?
Do they deflect the heat ,or are they just a gimmick? Any options besides
the ones from H-D? I really don't care for the looks on the ones from Kuryakyn.
Yes, check out No More Fried Thighs
It's my product and Ive been marketing my heat deflectors since August, 2002. Just do a search in here for RJS Originals. Im also a sponsor in this forum as well.

I got one from Capt. Itch. I have rode twice in short pants, and was fine. (about 150 miles)
I also don't believe you can buy a better looking, better quality "sadde shield". Even H-D's version looks chincy (plastic). To buy theirs, you might as well get kurys version. (blah !)

here's the looks of RJS Originals deflectors -
Our products arent made of leather. Their .040 aluminum, bonded with a vinyl that matches the grain of your seat. Like an extension of your saddle.
Though this is the touring section. This is also what they look like on a softail.
Have the RJ's and think they're easily the most "stylish" - IMO - FMB (for my bike).
The Captain's work very well also. Even the HD ones are worth it (though not nearly as "nice" looking and harder to install than either of the two previous).
