Front end noise
Last week I notice a metallic clicking coming from the front end of my 05 Ultra while pushing it out of the garage, first thought was the wheel bearings were going out.
I didn't ride since then, yesterday a friend and I put on the floor jack to check it out. With the front wheel off the ground we gave it a spin and sure enough we heard the "noise". After further inspection of the wheel area, we found that one of the retaining clips for the fender light wire had lost it's grip and was touching the tire. The raised lettering was causing the clip to be flipped out hitting the inside of the fender.
We took off the front tire and found an four more additional clips that the weren't being used. Put the wire in the clips and they are holding for now.
The clips are held on with thin double sided tape(gotta be something better) and I want to replace all of the tape on all of the clips so this doesn't occur again. I have never seen any double sided tape that thin before. Is this a dealer item and if not where can I get it?
Has anybody else experienced this? If so what did you do?
Thanks in advance!
Cecil
PS....just freaking happy it weren't the wheel bearings
