I've actually had that same set in my hand and was looking at them but didn't buy them. Where did you wire them up for power and switch ?
Thanks
I bought a rocker switch at Walmart with a green l.e.d. on it and mounted it to the dash. I used the HD under fairing wire to power the switch. The switch is then wired to a relay that is wired to the battery. The HD wire was meant for a GPS, and is switched power. Since it is only powering the switch, there is no problem. This is the 3rd season with this setup, no problems.
The lower leg lights & rings of fire are HD parts.
Try these from Walmart - $20 and lowers are no problem.
+1 on the Wallyworld lights. I have the same ones. Installed them with some Kuryakyn "D" clamps. Clamps cost more than the lights. I've spent big bucks on running lights and want do it again. You can replace these for cheap if they get busted.
Thanks for the tip. Went to the HD dealer. They had a couple of the Kuryakyn "P" clamps. Like you said.. they cost twice as much as the lights.
Which "Wally World" lights are ya'll running? Got a pic?
These are what I used. WalMart had the lights for about $17.00, can't remember what the 'P' clamps were by Kuryakyn. I also bought a the wire splitter that connects under the seat from HD dealer and connected the lights to my switch on dash.
It took a bit of work, but I got the running lights installed. I wouldn't recommend this mod unless you are comfortable with reading wiring schematics, and have a set of crimping tools and assorted connectors handy. I removed the batwing and tied into the wiring for the ACC switch using a piggyback connector. I also purchased seperate stainless hardware and an inline 15 amp mini fuse connector, as the one that comes with the lighting kit is really lame. It takes the better half of an afternoon and a jack would help in order to turn the front of the bike so you can get at all of the wiring. It costs about $75 once you add in the Kuryakyn "P" clamps, fuse connector, and assorted connectors. The nice thing about wiring it in this way is that you can use your ACC toggle switch to turn these lights on and off.
