Default Should I do it??

I have had my eye on the Black Denim Road Glides for a while. I may have an opportunity to sell my 09 SG to a friend who wants to upgrade. I know I need to ride the RG but I just wonder if I'm crazy for even thinking about it..

As you can see from my sig, I've got some $$ in my SG but I can recoup some on the sale...

With that said, anybody with a Black Denim RG with pics of what you've done to them? Bars, black out parts etc....

Thanks

Depends on how much you would loose, and how much you want the black denim. DO you really like that color, or is that just the one you like best of the choices?

Depending on how much it would cost you, you may want to just look at buying the parts and converting your SG. I followed a thread on another forum about a guy who did the conversion. He bought all the parts new, from Zannotties (20 percent discount) Said it ran around $1400 for the parts, NOT including painting the fairing. He did the labor himself. Recouped a pretty good chunk (I think abound $500) by selling off his batwing parts.

Could be done cheaper if your patient and go hunting on Ebay for used parts.

Would be kind of cool to convert yours, nobody else would have a dark blue pearl Roadie.

i know where your at brother... i spent basically all of last year in and out of dealers "thinking" about buying a new 2010 Street Glide. I finally pulled the trigger just before Christmass after getting a smokin' price quote ($16,500 +tax / prep) About two months before buying i went into the dealer and they had a Denim 2010 Roadie..i couldn't stop looking at it and thinking 'bad ***!"
I was looking at Street Glides so long i couldn't bring myself to make a left turn and buy the Roadie....
I do think about them alot...and like you said i've never even ridden one.. i think i'm afraid to cuz it would put the wheels in my head into high gear.
I sit on one ever time i go to my local dealer... it's strage cuz so many taller guys talk about how they fit them better..i'm only 5'7" and i think the RG fits me better then my SG..i think it's the handle bars though..
My SG is my first touring bike..(past = Heritage, Wide Glide, Sportster 1200, Fatboy) and i am loving it. Totally changed the way i think about riding.. I said my SG would be the last bike i would buy, cuz i could pretty much do whatever i want with it..but i don't rule out going to a Roadie one day...maybe doing the conversion like some have done...

I don't like the looks of the RG fairing, but a buddy bought a red denim one and I'm almost converted.

Well, I got a quote from a dealer today. $20k out the door for a 2010 Denim Black with ABS, Cruise and security. May be too hard to pass up.

I know i am going to get the "wait for the 11's to come out" but I like the Denim Black on the RG and the only color that teases me is the Sedona orange for the 11's. I don't forsee many (if any) changes for the new models nor do I expect to get that kind of deal on an 11.

Plus, I got a guy wanting to buy mine.
Sounds like i've talked myself into it. Guess I'll be test riding this weekend.
