does anyone know if they make a lowering kit for a Road King classic with leather saddle bags? i tried one and it only worked with the "hard bag" setup. apparently the way the back of the leather bags are molded for the shock to fit in, the shock can not be moved back to lower it.
All of the lowering kits I've seen claim that they are not compatible with soft bags. It might just be a scraping issue. You might want to inquire specifically what the issue would be if you were to use them with your current setup. It might be as simple as dealing with the bag scraping or modifying your bags. Good luck.
Thank you. I actually did install the kit. The kit both lowers and moves the shock assembly back at the same time. This means that the shock tube itself no longer fits in the molded concave slot on the back of the saddle bag. Other than a different shock, lots of $$, I guess I am stuck with the ride height as is. Thanks again.

I rode with a guy this past weekend who has a 2001 RKC. He told me he sent his stock shocks off to a guy who modified them and enabled him to drop the bike 2 inches. Sorry I don't have any details, but I know you're not stuck with the ride height.
Hey, now there's an idea! Thank you. I might try ebay or next time I am at the Charlotte swap meet I will be onthe look out for a set.
Nice bike and wow, what a view! Kinda looks like the painted desert. Gods creation is an awesome thing.
