Mine popped off backing it out of the trailer...bought a new one for $6...TO install it back, take the top bolt out and take the little stopper. rotate the stand the opposite way , towards the fron then you can slip it back in.

No, but it's my understanding that the easiest way to put it back on is to loosen, maybe take out, the bolt that goes down through the top. Swing the kickstand forward. Haven't done it, just been told that. Obviously you have to put it on a jack or have someone hold it.

I put a little white grease on the hooks where they pivot in the holes and where the spring drags across the stand, makes it work good

The spring on my bike is on there really tight. Looks like the only way it could fall off is if it broke in some way.

Took mine off to install stabilizer. finally got it back on....didnt seem like it was..(looser), anyway, ran over either a raccoon, or a ground hog,...knocked the spring off kick stand. After limping bike to filling station (about a mile away) very kind fellow Harley rider offer to help. Vise grips & some serious pulling, I got it back on! WHEW!
Really are some nice fellow bikers in the world! Thanks for letting me share!

On my old 08 FLHR - Mine popped of while crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge! Good thing Mikes was right there, and even better that I had a bungie in the bag!

You could put a roll of dimes in the kickstand spring to spread it out to get it on.
Then when you're done stretch it all the way out and get your dimes back.
At least this has worked for the spring in my softail once.

Remove jiffy-stand from frame piece, install spring to stand and spring frame hole, install stand back into it's frame piece. Very easy to do this way. Yes you need help or jack.
