Whether it's a part for your ride or a comment on HDF - take what you can use and discard the rest

then some moron slams you for asking what would be the best way to do something....good lord
I've seen this too, and also the posts that just try to make fun of the original poster. This is my first and only forum membership so it used to bother me until I had enough experience here to see that it becomes pretty easy to just ignore the useless replies. Considering we have 17,000+ members, the number of ***-shines is actually quite low. Ask all the questions you want; you'll usually get more good responses than bad.

Oh everyone is just too damn sensitive lately. Sometimes a sarcastic comment is not intended to be mean. It is supposed to be funny. But everyone is so on the defensive lately. Seems everyone is just looking for a fight. If you have a question ask it. You will get serious answers and you will have people that are just joking around and having fun too. It's not the end of the world.

I also hate that Winnie the Pooh never got an oscar, or that my skidoo only does 135, or that Mikeeeeeeeeeee makes sense when I disagree with him, or that I like chocolate, so that makes me a chic, or that when I am scuba diving, I run out of air or..................yeah, life sucks, crack that beer, fire up the BBQ, and we'll talk about it.

I dont post here often, but I do read alot of what others post...

Some of us, like myself , have been riding for many years ( 35+ for me) , have owned several if not many bikes ( 14 HDs ) and I know several here have owned their own shops as well ( like I did ) Many have technical experience beyond many employed mechanics and come from the day where ... if you wanted a Custom, you better know how to build it ( thats how I learned ). This was years before OCC, Discovery & the net made it so easy to buy & ride a Custom or do custom work on your own. But rarely do I see these more experienced people slamming another, often preferring to just not comment.... but Im sure it happens on occasion.

We all know about "keyboard commandos" that just have to puff out their chest and belittle another for their own satisfaction. Some are just a**holes no matter where they are, we see them at the events and on the streets too ... I pay no attention to them on here, nor in real life.

Some tend to forget that at one time... everyone was a newbie on a motorcycle. Each had to learn how to do the simpliest work ( oil change) to keep it running and shared with others or was taught by another the tricks that make it better.

For myself, having just bought a 07 SG ... no manuals available yet, limited after market stuff yet and my limited knowledge of TwinCam motors ( Shovel & Evo man )... each day I read something I didnt know or a small tip that answered a question I had in my mind but never asked. I follow the 07 posts so I can see what others have already done and if any problems popped up. Example: My 07 SG 5th gear whines alot... reading others post about it does little to help the problem but Im glad to see so many that have the exact same issues...Id hate to be the only one.

So each day all the HD Forums on the net will get a new member & rider, on his/her new HD and they will ask the same basic questions that some of us have answered several years ago ( Synthetic Oils) . But to them, its a new concern so they seek an answer.

So.. we should strive to be nice to all... after all, whats it gonna hurt to be civil to another ?

Sorry, longer than planned....

My faith has been restored by all the positive comments...some people think it is funny to make fun of others...but the information I get on this furom is invaluable and I will not hesitate to get as many ideas as I can from all.
Thanks

Jeff
