I had the mounts for a removable tourpak with the antenna relocation kit put on my Street Glide. Afterwards I could only pick up one of my regular stations in Los Angeles. Before the relocation kit I got good reception on all stations. After tightening everything and not getting any better I started to look at how all the plugs went together. The large adaptor that goes into the relocation bracket was the problem. It has lock nuts above and below the adaptor plate. The upper lock nut only allowed the upper cable jack to screw down 2 threads. This wasn't deep enough to contact the inner antenna surface. It really only needs the bottom lock nut anyway so I took the upper off and now I've got what sounds like better reception than before. If you wanted to retain the upper lock nut I've seen thinner lock nuts but haven't done a search for them yet. The next step is cutting the antenna down some but I'm definitely happy with the results so far...
