Guys- my daughter broke the pegs that drop down on the inside of the hard bag lid. So now when I open it there isn't anything holding the cover from flopping over.. I tried to fix it with epoxy but when it sits outside they epoxy heats up and gets soft.. So this isn't a fix.. Has anyone fixed this before and what did you use? I was thinking JB weld. thanks.
I took the small harley emblem off a old pair of boots and jb welded it to the primer cover looked awesome and has held for 4,000 miles thus far that stuff is permanent
JB Weld should do the trick. Just let it set up for at least 24 hours. I would not use the JB Quik, Not as strong in My opinon. JB Weld is great stuff, been using it for years.
Use a little Lacquer thinner (moist) on a towel and wipe the broken parts after lightly sanding the gloss off. JB Weld will work if you have a clean rough surface for it to bond and time to cure........ my 2 cents.......

Based on my experience I would think that JB Weld will work. Just remember though that it seems to go through some sort of viscosity change as it hardens and will run. So depending on where "gravity" will be in relation to your repair you may have to make a dam even if you take the lid off. I use masking tape.
Not really familier with the part you are talking about, I have the leather covered bags on my RKC, but you might try drilling into both peices and putting in a metal pin to pin the two peices together then use the JB weld to hold it all together, I had the gas pedal bracket brake on my Vett, that is what I did and it works great.
