I have an '08 Street glide and I'm looking to add some slip-ons. I want a nice deep sound with some loudness too. Which manufacturer of slip-ons will give me this sound? Vance & Hines, Reinhart, others?
All of them you just need to get out and listen to other bikes till you find the sound You want.
problem with V&H is everyone has them , well not everyone but to many around for my taste
I have the Reinhart td's and love them and a buddy has the slipons with stock headers and sound great also. I'd love to try the new 4" Reinhart slipons. I've also had Bub 7's and really liked them as well. Go on youtube.com and search for different brands and you'll find most of them are on there with great sound clips.
Don't overlook the Jackpot Dyno Tuned slipons from Fuel Moto. I have a set with the quiet baffle, but they also have a standard baffle and a performance baffle. They are some of the best sounding and most reasonably priced slipons I have seen and Fuel Moto can set you up with a power package that is outstanding. They are also a forum sponsor.
Dang it! Everybody has V&H!! Wonder why that is????? I have the V&H( thought I was the only one!) after having Rush on my Heritage! The Rush were more raw for sure! The V&H have more bass if you will! A deep rumble but will not drown out your tunes!! Plus I think thay look killer on the bike!!! You will hear them when you roll on the throttle!
+1 on hanging out at your local HD dealership to hear all the pipes / slipons coming and going... nothing beats hearing pipes live and in person.
On that note, I am happy with the sound and volume of my RUSH slipons w/2.0 in baffles... the volume is perfect for me, but could be considered loud for others... volume, as well as sound / tonality is all subjective... hence the need to hear the pipes / slipons for yourself in person...
