I have a 06 Ultra. And I noticed a few weeks ago that the glass on the gauges looked dirty.
I tried to clean them, And the Streaks and film is on the inside. Yesterday when I washed it, The fuel Gauge got a little condensation inside for a little while. then dried up. arent they supposed to be SEALED ?
Has anyone else had this problem? I am sure it will be a big fight to get the dealer to fix them. But on a 22K Bike with only 4 K Miles on it. It is very sad!!!
The gauges are not sealed, I had the same thing happen on my 05 Classic as my 06 Ultra. When I had it on my classic the dealer told me that they would replace them if it bothered me, and yes the new replacements would do the same thing as the old ones would. Now I don't worry about it, I just ride the bike.
The fuel guage on my '03 Ultra Classic has been the same problem with moisture since it was new. None of the the other gauges seem to have that problem.
Join the club, you would THINK after all the complaints that HD has is and will contune to receive about their crappy gauges that they would FIX THE PROBLEM, but noooooooooooooo
PS the problem with the gauges IS MOT cover under the warranty, I know I tried, again they are aware of the problem & it will not be fixed until they lose sales because of it. (it's like a GM kind of thing)
You know - this is BS! My tach is so stained on the inside of the lens that I can't help but notice it and nowSTRANGERS that are admiring my bike are noticing it.- and my bike is a 07 with 4300 miles on it.I've had multiple non-harley bikes that NEVER got water/stains.
I know if my be hard for the MOCO to please us. I mean the vast majority of us are very **** about our rides, or we woudn't be bitchin' so much. But come on - A GAUGE that can't be CLEANED. This is very frustrating (if you couldn't tell) and makes me wonder how I missed these type of problems when I was evaluating my options.
You know what is really funny - I still love my ride!!
All of the gauges on my bike fog up with the exception of the speedometer and the tachometer. I was thinking of taking them apart and applying a anti fogging coating.
Do any of you know if the gauge lenses are actually glass?
