Default new windshield on my ultra

I recently put an 8" tinted windshield on my bike in place of the stock 12" one. The stock one bugged me to death as the top of it was right at eye level. This was very uneasy when going around turns in the dark. I will be going on a 600 mile weekend ride starting tommorow and i am hoping i didnt go down too far. I have taken it on a 20 mile night ride and the bugs sure do look threatning but they seem to fly up and over my head at the last minute, it sure is better as far as my view of the road though. I guess i will know more by sun. night.

Ok, what brand of shield did you buy and does it have the flip up (recurve) at the top?

I knew someone would have to ask! I dont know how to spell it but here goes. It is the kuryakan and the curve is the same as the stock one. Looks much better!

Ok i did my weekend ride and can say in 570 miles i did have one bug make it through my new defenses. A really big, juicy one that got me right in the sunglasses. Overall i think my choice was a good one. Much improved visability without giving up alot of protection.

I put the same one on today, though I have not had a chance to ride it yet. I did find out that my three pouch windshield bag now peeks out just a touch on the sides but not too bad. I think I can live with that. BTW, that windshield was pretty inexpensive too.

some people prefer to look through a windshield. i prefer looking about 2" over the windshield. for me, at my height of 6'4" the 10" long ride shield worked out great. it has the flip up at the top that manages the wind stream to where it goes just above the top of my helmet. besides that long ride shield with the medium smoke, and the flip at the top sure looks sharp on my black streetglide.

I have the 6" Klockwerks curved shield. It really moves air quite well around me and keeps most bugs going in the same direction. The big ones get through, but thats all part of riding, isn't it?

9 inch LRS "classic" for me. Had a 6.5 KW and couldn't wait to get rid of it.
I still am 2-3 inches under my eyes w/the 9. in case I gotta duck under.
