I'm thinking of getting a Windvest windshield for my new RG. Is there a rule of thumb I should use concerning fit? With my RK the top of the windshield comes even with the tip of my nose. I'm about 6 ft tall.
Any thoughts on the Long Ride Shields? I like the recurve, and they have a hell of price.

I have a LRS Ultra 10.5 inch on my UC. I like it. It looks good and does a great job. LRS recommends that the top of the shield be even with the area between your nose and upper lip. BUT go for a ride first because you'll settle into your seat a bit as you ride. Then measure. I measured sitting on the bike in the shed and my windshield is bit taller than it should be after settling into the seat. But I like it nonetheless.

I love my 10" ultra shield. Great people to deal with.
I have the 10" Windvest on my Road Glide. I love it. I like the looks, it's very unassuming with the small curved lip at the top. It fits the lines of the bike. Unlike those other brands with all the weird whoopty-woo curves and lines. I think those look like crap, sorry.
I'm 6'1" and the 10" works just fine. At my height, if I really wanted to be protected completely, I'd probably go with the 12", but I didn't want to go that high. However, the 10" is worlds of different from that little stock 6" thing they put on the RG Customs.

E-mail or call Windvest. They'll tell you exactly what you need...... and stand behind that advice. They have great customer service.
To measure a RG windshield, place a can 50 feet in front of the bike. Sit on the bike in your normal riding position. Measure up from the center bolt on the windshield to the point where your can clearly see the can over the top. That's your measurement.
Your RKing tip of the nose measurement won't work, because the RGlide shield is farther away. It will be closer to your lower lip or chin.
