Default Windshield advise please.

One of the first mods to the scoot will have to be a different windshield. I'm 6', with most my height in the torso, so my head is way above the stock shield. As a result, I am getting a good deal of buffeting at the top of my head. Running with the mail slot open helps a little, but I'm not happy with it as it is. I've seen a few threads talking about Long Ride Shields. They look good, and seem to be priced right. Any similar experiences, and what was your solution?

I'm 5'10" with a long torso, I ended up replacing the stock one with a Large Clearview with the recurve. I'm very happy with it, it's only about 1 1/2" taller but that's all I needed.

I'm 6' and went with the 11" LRS ULTRA. The recurve is supposed to have the effect of a 3" taller windshield. It solved the buffeting for me if I keep it under 80. There are directions on the LRS website on how to determine what height windshield you need. That's how I determined I needed there 11". LRS is running a special through the end of the week. If you use coupon code LRSDUST you get 25% off!!

Check out Fast Aire. Best I can remember, all of theirs are polycarbonate. Not acrylic. Seems like polycarbonate is what you want. Less brittle. LRS only has the one style that is polycarbonate. The "Ultra" I think. I could be mistaken on that. I've had both. I'm currently running a Fast Aire 6 inch. It's fine for me. But I'm shorter than you sounds like. I've ordered from both companies, and Fast Aire ships a lot faster. In my experience anyway. National Cycle makes a nice one too. V-Stream I think. It looks nice.

I'm 6'4 and sat way over the stock screen on my 14 limited. I got a lot of buffeting on mine also. I just installed a 14" lrs clear with a recurve. Love this screen no more buffeting. I could of went a little smaller because I look through the screen but it's fine with me.

I ride a 2010 FLHX and I'm 6'1". I went to my local dealer who had all the sizes of the Klock Werks flare to demo. I tried the 6.5" first and ended up with the 8.5". A world of difference over the stock. My glasses and head are not shaking anymore. No more loud wind in my ears either. And it actually looks pretty good with my 12" twin peaks bars. Try and find a dealer who has the demo shields to see what us the best for you.

I love my lrs shield. Though I think I should've gotten a 9" instead of a 7", it still works magically under 80mph

Long Ride Shields, Freedom Shields, Clear View Shields all have the recurve on top to push the wind up higher. All good shields. You'll just have to shop around and find one you like.
