1967 Electra Glide
Nice find... I'd suggest you search the web for guys who specialize in vintage bikes. May be something you end up taking to the right auction to let folks fight over it with their wallet.
I won't get rid of the bike because bikes were something my uncle and I had in common and I was raised to never sell a gift.... it's just not cool in my book.
I haven't owned a bike since my last Triumph and that was about 89-90. I haven't been able to justify spending the money on a bike with everything I spend on cars but this bike isn't eating anything. I'm not rich by any means but I also don't NEED the money. I've sold too much nice **** in the past and regret it today.
This bike is at home now and it will be here for someone to fight over when I am gone.
What you have there is the third year of the Electra Glide.Second year of the Shovelhead.74 cubic inch engine w/4-speed tranny. In complete original condition it is very rare. The engine ALONE w/title would bring 5 grand easy.If you want to get it running, fresh gas, plugs, points, and clean carb...Just a note-if you plan on riding/running it for lengthy times, you might consider some lead substitute in the gas (or pull heads and replace valves w/unleaded fuel "friendly" valves). Also need to make sure crankcase isn't full of oil from sitting so long.
I'm a hot rod guy and I have a few cars but I've been wanting to build a Frisco style bobber for a while. My first thought was to use this bike to do that but I just can't change it, it's too complete and way too cool the way it is.

Probably would not take to much time or money to get her going. I will keep an eye out for you on my rides around mid Missouri.
Dragger - glad to hear how this story ended - enjoy the bike! But I will add to the chorus of people saying you have a rare and desirable bike - 66-69 slab side - and with original paint. Please, keep it stock(ish) and don't repaint it! It's only original once...
Enjoy riding it - that's what they were made for. I'd love to see current pictures, too...

I don't have any current pics because what I had was on the last phone I broke. Nothing has changed on it except that is has an S&S carb on it just to make it run.Like I said earlier, the bike is still sitting in my uncles shop on the motorcycle lift just like he left it and it'll be spring before I bring it home. I'm sure I'll get some new pics in a month or two.
As for the A-bone... I'd love to build that but I have too many cars as it is. I have a 68 Roadrunner, 64 Fury, a 27 T-coupe and I'm half owner of a 71 Demon that me and a friend are building for Mecum.
