Default Bagger Question

I'm just curious.

I can see the major differences between Road King and the other touring bikes.

But what are the major differences (except the fairing style) between the Street Glide, and Road Glide, and Electra Glide models?

Thanks,
Sammi

STREET GLIDE IS LOWER HAS RADIO AND BLACK ENGINE OTHERWISE SUSPENSION ETC ALL THE SAME AS ALL TOURERS. . STD IS SILVER ENGINE STD HEIGHT NO RSDIO AND LEAST EXPENSIVE TOURING MODEL. ELECTRA GLIDE GOES FROM STD TO CLASSOC WITH BLACK ENGINE AND RADIO AND TOUR PAK. ULTRA HAS EVERYTHING CLASSIC HAS PLUS CRUISE CONTROL ,LOWER FAIRINGS 4- SPEAKERS,INTERCOM,HEADSET,CB RADIOAND LIGHTS ON THE TOUR PAK.ROAD GLIDE HAS A FIXED FAIRING WHICH CAUSES IT TO HANDLE BETTER BECAUSE OF AEROBYNAMICS AND GETS BETTER GAS MILAGE 2 SPEAKERS, NO TOUR PAK NO LOWERS. SOME NOW COME WITH TOUR PAK. SUSPENSIONS ARE ALL THE SAME EXCEPT STREET GLIDE COMES WITH THE 1 INCH LOWER SHOCKS WHICH YOU CAN BUY FOR ANY MODEL IN THE TOURING LINE. ENGINE AND DRIVELINE ALSO THE SAME. PICK UP A BROCHURE AND SPEND SOME TIME WITH IT. HARLEY MAKES ABOUT 38 DIFFERENT MODELS BIT IN REALITY THE BIKES ARE ALL VERY SIMILAR WITHIN THE MODEL LINE. THERE REALLY IS ONLY MAJOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE LINES SUCH AS SOFTAIL,TOURING,DYNA, V-ROD AND SPORTSTER. WITHIN EACH OF THOSE LINES EXCEPT FOR THE SPRINGER, ALL ARE VERY SIMILAR. HOPE THIS HELPS.

The only reason I asked is that I was going through the HD site looking around for not particular reason and saw the pics of the Road Glide and Street Glide, then looked at the 3 Electra Glides.

Sort of like the varities of Dyna and Softtail models, but moreso.

A little too much time on my hands.

Its like the same model car with different options, all the touring models have the same running gear, frame, then you have the base standard and then add some extras and you get the classic, add more you get ultra, the Street glide is a base custom with more chrome and stuff and the road glide is the only one with a different look, but its still based on the same running gear as the others.

If your dealer will alow you test ride the various models, try to get some miles at freeway speed. That's were a lot of your traveling will be, so you will get an idea of how it handles. A couple trips around the parking lot just doesn't get it for a H-D unless that's all your gonna do with it.

I don't plan on getting one - at least not for a while.

My Low Rider suits my needs perfectly (for now).

Just had a question based on my perception that they look a lot alike.

Like I said, way too much time on my hands sometimes!!!
