My commute is 11 miles and takes 7 min. with 1 traffic light. I ride to work for the same reason. I always have a smile as I pull out of the parking lot.
Even considered moving just to increase my commute.
I rode to work at 0530 this morning. Walked outside and it was still dark with just the moon lighting the road. The temperature was 70 and there were no bugs - perfect.
Riding in, all of the houses were still dark and there was almost no traffic on the road. I really felt at peace with the world. Too bad I had to pull in to the parking lot at work and stop, but it made the day more tolerable.
