Default Installed some stuff

I bit on the 25% off sale at M&M and got the following Kuryakyn add ons. My comments follow:

BRIDGE THE GAP HEAT SHIELD Item # 9196 $20.21, - Worth every penny. Easy to install and covers the gap by the driver's right foot board in the heat shields. Beats Harley's part which is about $100.00

TIRE WISE 40psi AND 36 PSI VALVE STEM CAPS Item # 9193, 9192 $6.71/pair of each - Supposed to change colors from green to red when you tire air pressure falls. I noted they change when you are -5 psi. I wouldn't buy them again, plastic and look kind of goofy.

LICENSE PLATE FRAME FOR TOURING MODELS Item # 9161 $22.46, - OK, matches the tail light cover I got. Nothing special, but it will do.

TAIL LIGHT COVER# 8130 $14.96 - Not bad, dresses up the rear light some.

BIG TWIN DIPSTICK,ALL CHROME# 1013 Subtotal: $18.71, - This is a replacement dipstick and cap assembly that allows you to check your tranny fluid by unscrewing the dipstick by hand. There is a nut that screws into the tranny. It accepts a threaded dipstick that you can then unscrew from the nut. The nut is very light (maybe plastic). It has a 7/8 hex opening in it to screw it into the tranny. I wouldn't torqe it too hard, for fear it might crack. I certainly didn't have a hex big enough so I had to go out and buy one. It looks pretty cool and makes checking the tranny easier, but I worry about the quality of the nut.

Overall - This is the second set of Kuryakyn products I purchased. They are mostly just passable in terms of quality and value. I consider the heat shield a good value, however.

Hope this helps someone else out there.

I'd love to see the heat shield gap thing.

Tail light

Dipstick

Heat shield

The heat shield slips under the lower clamp of the front stock shield. It then slides under the next one as you can see. Took about 5 minutes to install and covered up that gap which, on my bike, was already discolored.

Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, sorry about the water spots, etc. Fast wash job outside in the rain. I promise I'll do better next time!

Hey JB thanks for the info and pics. I think I'll go to my wish list on the MoCo site and remove the heat shield they have and get the one you ordered. Isn't it weird that the MoCo would have heat shields that covered every other inch of the pipes yet left that gap? But lucky for us they do in fact sell the very part they shoud have included in the first place. (must clean sarcasm stains from my keyboard now).

With gaps in the heat shields, choked down air cleaners, terrible pipes, uncomfortable seats and handle bars that are too short, it's a good thing we didn't have to pay exorbitant prices for these well engineered bikes (/sarcasm).

Honestly, I love the bike but I think I hate the manufacturer.
