Default size of axle nut?

I asked this question earlier on the tech forum and haven't had a reply. I need to remove the rear wheel on my 07 Road King. I don't have a wrench big enough to fit the axle bolt or dome nut. I will be going to the hardware store to buy a couple of sockets and would like to know if anyone can tell me the size for these. Thanks.

Do I need two different sizes, one for the dome nut and a larger size for the axle bolt? It looked like the left side was slightly larger.

Don't worry about the axel end. It won't move once you have some torque on the axle. Just hold it with a pair of channel locks or a crecent.

Don't I need to turn the axle nut to adjust the belt tension?

Lightly tighten the 36mm nut, turn the other end to adjust belt deflection, then torque to 100 lbs. 1 1/8 will also work.

Default Whats the rear axle nut size on a 97 electraglide?

I read a few posts and went and bought a 36mm but it turned out to be waaaay to big. Looks more like a 1 inch. Biggest I have right now is a 3/4 and its a bit too small.
