Axle nut size?

Default Axle nut size?

I have a 2009 fatboy I have a manual ordered but in the meantime does anybody know what size the nuts are on the rear Axles?

The nut on the left is 36mm.The axle bolt head on the right is between 1 1/16 and 1 1/8.I didn't have a metric wrench that big.Metric on a Harley?Hmmmmmm.

I'm glad that's cleared up...when I first saw the title of this thread I thought you were talking about Axle Rose's nuts......That seemed like a strange subject to have on this forum to me.

yep, I had the same problem , found a whitworth open ended to fit the axle end and used a shifter (adjustable wrench ) .I didn’t think to measure the diameter of the axle itself . Is it exactly 25 mm .
