Has anyone used the new Harley IPOD Interface which connects to the stock stereo? If you have, what do you think of it? I am thinking about getting one so that I can control the IPOD from the deck and can keep the IPOD in the saddle bag.
I was looking at it also. Seems like an expensive approach but interesting none-the-less. I don't think I want to start drilling holes in my bags though.
I think it would be cheaper/easier than buying a new head unit, mounting kit and whatever else you would need. Once you plug this interface in, you should just be able to run the cable under the gas tank and then drill a small hole into the bag. One of my friends has his IPOD stored into the bag and it looks pretty good.
I just got the Boom Pouch. I put my iPod inside, put the pouch on the left side of the tank and run the wire to the Aux port in the stock radio. Operating any electronic device while operating a motor vechicle may result in injury and/or death...however, I can quickly and easily change songs this way when using my left hand. Disconnecting when parked is really easy too. If you don't want to drill the bag or pay $399.95 for the iPod interface you can get the Pouch For around $40.00.

ditto. mines in a baggie in the winshield pouch. works well
On my next 2 up ride I will let my passenger be in charge of working the iPod. It will give her something to do while she is just sitting. That way I will have controls on the bars like the HD IPod interface. One honk for "next song", two honks for "off/on". I just saved myself $399.95 and gave my passenger a sense of purpose.
If you have a power outlet in a bag or tour-pak, try using a FM transmitter / charger. I've been doing this since I've had the bike. Works nicely. I switch to a CD on the rare occasion my station gets "stepped" on. (twice) I created the playlist, so I like every song and don't worry about skipping one.
I have one. Works well for iPod tunes but you will still need to use ACC for internet radio (Slacker/Pandora). It would be worth it if I could use the internet radio but overall, overpriced.
