That setup looks pretty good. Never heard of a 'Hero' camera before though. I wonder if other cameras would fit into that case? I'd think wind buffeting would give the wearer a headache after a while. I was looking at some remote lens helmet cameras that were costing 3-4 times that much!!

I have a GoPro HD and you can check out some of my vids at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmgc3DBI0Vw The vids have various mountings and mode combinations so you can see the effects of each. Because of vibration, IMHO about the only mouniting option is on the body to dampen the vibs down unless you work up a vibration dampening mount.

The thing people should consider with the GP is that it is an extreme wide angle lens on the order of 172 degree field of view with most modes and 127 degrees on full 1080 HD mode. That is great for some things, not so great for others. It will cause a definite curve to straight objects. Also no viewfinder or viewer. Don't really need one, but it would be nice on ocassion to make sure you got the shot you want.

GREAT riding camera and video!

DO NOT buy it from GoPro directly, their Customer Service is ridiculous, no contact phone numbers, all emails.

Just a Sanyo Mini HD video camera on a Ram mount - the vids are quite good - but when I converted, I had to make them as 'light' as possible for upload to Youtube - the originals are very clear. BUT the downside is you don't know when you have a bug splat as you will see...

This is last weekend at the Sisters - about 15 different vids

get a lanyard and hang it around your neck.

When everything is stable at the controls, you can one hand it and take good pictures out front and beside and rearward.

If you need to grab the handles for something, you can just drop the camera.

I have a Tachyon XC and use a helmet mount. 8 gig SD cards get about two hours of video. For what I paid for it just over a year ago you can get the GoPro HD camera.
