A definite plus to long distance comfort. You have to take off the seat to mount their bracket, which can be adjusted both back and forth on the fender, and the back rest adjusts up and down on the mount. You can get them to match the leather of the tour pack. Easy to take on and off as well once you have the bracket mounted on the fender under the seat.

I use one with my mustang solo. I find that it help on those longer rides.

Makes long rides much more comfortable. You won't regret spending the money.

IMO, depending on your health, you can't beat a rider back-rest. I've had both the HD adjustible version and the Mustang version, and MUCH prefer the latter; it folds over much easier (a bonus for both my mounting and my wife's).

I don't use it riding short local hops but it's a lifesaver for the long hauls.

I'll probably never own a bike w/o it again.

Like other have said, they are are must for longer trips. But the HD version doesn't compare to the Mustang. Easy in, out, up and down. And much thinner for the passenger.
