Uhhhhh opps...... I was impatient and tied to figure it out and pulled the whole red cap off, but I managed to put all the pins in and put it all back together working ... I hope
It should be fine, they do come apart, it's just not necessary or recommended, so next time do not remove. Did you check the front as I have mentioned after it was back together, to make sure that all pins are all the way to the face of the plug? If you did this and they are, and the lock snapped back, then you are fine.
Now for the future you know, small screwdriver, insert in groove and twist. I want to add one other thing, you actually should not pry the wedge lock, but rather twist the screwdriver.
Everything seems to be okay with the radio side but the navigation side doesnt seem to play thru the radio the music pauses but nothing is said.........Great
Make sure when the music pauses that you turn the volume up, as at this time the phone volume will be in effect, and this volume may be down fairly low. You will have two volumes, one for the sound of any input on the radio ie, FM,AM,CD,etc, and the phone volume, which will be for the NIM, but you will adjust this only when the NIM is activated. So I would check this, (I now see that you have an 11) also I believe there are a few bugs with the firmware on the 11's, which I think they are working on a fix for.
I have a 2011 Classic Ultra. I just installed the RT 660, the faring mount and the NIM. At first I didn't get any spoken instructions form the GPS to the speakers. I then read this forum and discovered that the speaker switch had to be all the way forward (speaker light lit) I now have voice directions.
My big Question is the HD Radio supposed to recognize the Navigation interface? if I hit that button on the radio, I get the message that No Navigation Interface is installed. I would have expected teh radio to figure out the NIM was in place and reflect it.
Now I'm considering a mod to my radio to install a AUX plug in the back. Does anyone know if that is being done on the new HD radios? I don't really know why but I hate that wire in the AUX port. Maybe I'm just being too picky.
I also wish the radio had both front and rear accessory input jacks. I added a rear jack by sending the radio to Iron Cross audio, which will do it for $65 + shipping, as Wlibert already reported, or $40 additional if the unit needs the standard repair option. Here is a tutorial on a DIY mod, but you'll need to register with the forum or sign-in before you can see the pix. Now that it's installed I wouldn't want to live without it, as I listen to most of my music through the Zumo and can't imagine the front jack being waterproof when the cable is connected. I suppose HD doesn't have it because most riders wouldn't use it and it would add 50˘ to the cost of each bike.
