Default Uh-oh

Was chainging fluids last night on my 09 Ultra and noticed a few shavings on the primary drain plug magnet. Wasn't much, didn't completely cover the bolt end, but was enough to wipe off and most looked to be maybe a quarter inch long, and thin like, well shavings.
I wonder with all the talk about the clutch compensator, could the shavings be a symptom of a compensator problem? I also have to admit the primary was a little low on juice. I poured the drained fluid into a bottle with a scale on the side and had about 30 oz. Checked the manual and now I know it takes 38 oz.

Don't panic. Shavings on the primary drain plug magnet are normal. Drain the oil, clean the magnet well, refill and enjoy.

DUH...That is why there is a magnet? On my '04, I don't even pay attention to the magnt. I pull it out wipe it off. I guess if there were a chain link attached, that would be bad.

chuck (Zero miles on my primary oil change)

You'll see similar stuff on the drain plug in the transmission when the time comes. Fear not!

Metal to metal...simple wear....just ride...as long as the fluids are good and the level is right, just ride.
