HP & torque
I have a Stage 1 TC96 with 255 cams, still with the stock spring which is apparently the weakest made in the past 12 years. So far no problems, but I'm easy on the clutch. If you use this spring with performance upgrades, or IMO even without, avoid primary oil with friction modifiers, preferably a common non-synthetic engine oil or ATF. Spring tension varies from year to year, and here is a list of the springs available compiled by someone in an earlier thread:
37882-06 (117 KgF) 2006-88”, 2007 thru 2010-96”
37871-04 (135 KgF) 2004-05 88” and 2010 Limited
*37871-98 or -98A (145 KgF) 1998-2003
37807-03 (165 KgF) 2007 thru 2010-103 ”Police"
37951-98 (175 KgF) Current SE
*Some are putting these in Stage II kits with success, which are midway between the stock -06 and SE springs. Thus, easier to work than SE but strong enough to hold with mild builds.
