Default UC Hot?

I'm thinking of buying a 08 UC. I have read independent reviews and for the most part were good, but many complained of the heat off the engine.

One guy said he should have bought an 09 with the heat shields. Are they really that hot?

If you are doing parades in suimmer heat...YES...Most times...only when stopped. My 08 is pretty much stock as far as engine mods, and sure, it gets warm...but its NOT all that bad and when you are doing 80 MPH down the freeway, you won't feel it at all.

I have 33,000 miles on my '08 and with the exception of Sturgis intown traffic once, I haven't had a heat problem. I did install the under seat heat deflectors from HD.

I think the '08 Ultras come with the heat shields from the factory. If not, they are a fairly easy instal on an '08. An '07, like mine, are a bit more difficult from what I hear.
