Default Replacement Seat

I own a 2002 HD ElectraGlide Classic. I would like to replace the stock seat. There is also a HD backrest added.
Any suggestions on a comfortable all day ride, touring, aftermarket seat? I'm 6'1" about 235 and have a 34" inseam.
The stock seat with the backrest pushes me a bit forward and the front of the seat is very uncomfortable between my thighs/crotch area.
Looking for a seat which is narrow upfront by the fuel tank.
I found several different manufacturers on the web. To many choices which makes it difficult to decide on the best.

I'm 6' and 270# and felt a little too far forward also on my 01 FLHT. I picked up a stock Street Glide seat on eBay, you just need an adapter to cover the bottom of the fuel tank where the stock seat usually rides, HD sells one, my friend even made one for his buddies 02 Electra Glide who did the same seat swap. The Street Glide seat puts me back and about an inch lower, pretty comfortable.

Sundowner! Just put mine on last night. Took a test ride and this thing is comfy, sets me back further and lower, also a bit more narrow at the front.

You need to check out the Mustang seat they are great and with most of the seat's you can use your Harley backrest. I have some ride bud's that also have the Mustang's and love them. I ordered my Mustang seat from www.tri-countyharleydavidson.com I checked with lots and lots of sellers and they had the absolute best price shipped to my door. I had e-mailed them for a price and the general manager wrote back and she was great to work with, if you want to contact, her name is Jenni and e-mail JSapyta@aol.com.
Good luck on your search

Mustang all the way. Very narrow at the nose making it quite easy to move back and forth and an all day comfort ride. Along with the riders backrest you can't go wrong.

After reading probably every post in the archives regarding seats, I ordered a Sundowner about a month ago. I have about 500 miles on it so far and it is lives up to its reputation. It moved me back less than an inch and up just a bit, but I think thats because it hasn't been fatassed into submission like my old seat. But its all day comfy

Hey Hoda,

I replaced my stock RG seat last year with a seat with the widest passenger pillion I could find for my wife, here is the HD part number...51704-05

It's acutally an awesome seat. I'm 6'2", 225lbs this seat is an inch or two thicker than the stock seat, so more comfortable. Check it out, I recommend it.

Seats are a lot like women, what suits one will be an absolute disaster for another. Your best bet is to try different ones and then call some of the companies, seems many of them will make seats you fit you and your requirements. I have a Corbin and really like it while riding several trips of 500 miles this summer and one of over 1100 in 24 hours.

I have the Mustang Super Touring seat. Just got it last week and I'm super happy with it. I've got about 10-12 hours in it so far and as I'm getting used to the new seating position I'm liking it more and more. If you feel too far forward with the stock seat, this Mustang does the trick. I'm 6'1".

Mustang Part Number is 79556.

Got mine directly from Mustang. If you tell them about lower prices being available on the internet they'll discount their price a bit.

EDIT... Just noticed you have an '02. Mine is an '11 so I'm not sure the seat I talked about is available for your bike. Give Mustang a call. They were very helpful on the phone with me. And they have a ten-day return policy.
