Default street glide shocks

I am looking for shocks that would fit the 2010 -2011 street glide. The shocks that come with the bike feel like a Sportster ride. I need to find the most comfortable riding shocks posible. Even if shocks raises the bike. and dont throw off the balance of the bike.

The piston travel should be about 13" inches.

Try to search-there's several recent LENGTHY discussions on this topic. Cheapest way to go 1st is a set of factory electraglide shocks-plenty to find on ebay for under $100 then sell your take-offs for over $125. If you want to go all out, Penske, Ohlins, Ricor all offer best ride if you're willing to shell out the big bucks. I went the eglide shock way and ended up making $50 bucks after all was said & done. I'm very satisfied with the ride even though it raised the ride an inch.

I've had Arnott air ride for a few years & really like it and have had no problems but, they sure don't ride as well as the OE 13" touring shocks!

I assume you checked and adjusted the air pressure.... My dealer never prepped the shocks at delivery, that's why I ask... I have 13" Road King Classic touring shocks sitting on the shelf, which I took off my 09 RKC new to go to 09 SG shocks to lower my bike 3/4 an inch... I am 225 pounds, the wife is 135, we carry 45 pounds of gear,a nd at 45 psi in the shocks, we have a good ride.... The 13" shocks will raise your bike 3/4" by the way...

You guys are great! especially the idea of using the touring bike shocks. I am going to sleep on it and may go with the touring shocks. I have to verify if they will fit the Street Glide. Another shock that was recommended was the screaming eagle adjustble load shock. I am a little concern with the hight of the shock. I would think it is a little short. and the ride would not be as nice. What do you screaming eagle CVO think of the shock?

Yep, lots of posts on the subject, but if you want to save some cash try changing the shock oil to Mobil 1 Synthetic Transmission Fluid. It's pretty much equal to a 7.5w shock oil and is compatible with the shocks. You won't believe the difference. I think I have a write-up here on it.

If you don't want to save cash then Ricor or Ohilins are popular around here. Hope this helps.

Is the rear of the bike high and pushing you towards the front of the bike?
