I would go with one of the fairing bikes. I like the Streetglide. You need to ride them. I would actually rent on and ride it for a full day. Remember you will change the windshield and seat probably so don't get hung up on wind. My streetglide spoke to me so thats what I bought. Your size will work fine for any of them.

Test ride em all. And give them each a good day's ride - hwy, back road, burbs, etc. Seriously - everyone's opinions are just that - they are their opinions. You really want to form your own. See if any of your locals HD dealers have rentals, or would be willing to let you take some for spin before you buy. I know when I was doing my research, I test drove my Ultra for a day to make the final decision. The dealer I rented from made sure I was aware that if I bought a bike from him, he would deduct the cost of the rental from the purchase price of the bike.... which I thought was a very nice gesture. I ended up buying used and from out of state - I was on a mission for the perfect Ultra for me, color and options, which will be your next step once you finally make the choice on which model you like.

my 2¢ and some odd change.

And..Happy Birthday soon!,....I'll be 45 years old too and trading my trusty 2005 Electra Glide Standard TC 88 (bought in August 2004) for a new 2011 Road Glide Ultra (103CC) in the morning (end of the month Bday- is that my trade Justification?), ...and I never rode a shark nose, - even on a test drive...but I like the looks---so am I nervous about the change- YES..about the same amount of neverousness as I was when I traded my 2001 1200C Sportster in for the glide!..and never rode a bagger before that trade..even on a test ride...and I loved the change!..I'm hoping to have the same great experience on the 103cc...

I'm going to have to agree here. DO NOT LET THE WIND BUFFET MAKE YOUR DECISION! Each one of these bikes will need a little changing to make them fit you. Example... i am a good bit shorter but when i got the RG the buffeting really bothered me. A 30$ part and a new shield changed all that. Rent them and ride them like you stole them and see which you prefer. Sling them side to side. Some like the closed in feeling and hand protection from the SG. Taller people tend to like the open feeling of the RG. Many people love the classic look and being able to go convertible with the RK. Just make the choice on the ride and the options you want. Don't worry about the wind because you will change all that really quick .

I chose the RG because i really like the openess behind the fairing, wanted a radio, and it handles like a beast in the twisties. So good it shocked me! I am also one that really likes the look of the fugly!

Can't go wrong with any of the bunch, but they are all unique. As others have said...ride all three and make a tough decision.

Sedona orange is a bad a$$ color that gives you some great options for customizing.

Good luck!

p.s. I went to a bike without a radio and fairing and you'd be really surprised how much you miss those when you don't have them... I quickly found another one...lol.

WOW thanks for the fast input. I am leaning toward the RK today, yesterday it was the RG, tomorrow?? I like the RK because of the ability to change things up. The RG for the stereo, gaueges an the uniqueness of the shark nose. Again thanks for the great input

As stated, Test ride both and NOT for just 10 min... take em for a RIDE.. being that you are coming off a Sporster - Anything has to feel better - being you 6'1".. I am 5'6" and have riden both coast to coast and I like both for different reasons... I chose to stay with the EG because it felt closer to me - but it is my guess it will feel TOO close for you - but only YOU can make that decession...
