Default The Compensator Issue

Had one go bad on me on a 09 RKS at around 20,000 miles. Now have a 10 Ultra Classic Limited. Question, does the 103 have the same compensator as the 96 or has it been upgraded. When I changed the RK's out I had to wait up to 10 days for a SE compensator.
so I put in a stock one. If I'm going to be facing that issue again I want to get the SE and put it on the shelf.

I just returned from my local dealer regarding this vary issue. My 2010 Limited is going in Monday morning for a replacement compensator. They will cover everything under warranty with the exception on the price difference between the stock part vs the new S.E. design which is about $100.00.

the 2010 FLHTK has the same compensator as the one that crapped out on you, 2011 replaced it with a SE.

Sorry for the bad news.

Why does this only seem top be an issue with the touring models?

Don't know for sure, but the comp may have to work harder than a Softtail or Dyna due to added weight

How could you tell when it's going bad?

Mine sounded like rocks or steel ***** in the primary. I have the SE now. No rocks.
