There out there for sale. I would like to suggest that you purchase a Service Manual. It will be the best $55 you send on your bike. There are some special things needed to do that job correctly. Take it to the HD shop & have them press the parts in. That's just my 2 cents. I've found things out the hard way before. It's a learning experience. Good luck.

Thumbs up

Sad to say that I have a manual. I put the cart before the horse this time though. Also I am at the defiant age when my eye sight is changing and I am being defiant to wearing glasses.

Waiting for a reply from a fellow forum member that had offered to help me out with a swingarm.

Best of luck sorting this out. Think calm thoughts! Hopefully you will also find the True-Track kit worth all the effort!

I was trying to install the True-Track Tracula kit which calls for pressing out the Spherical bearings, deburring and installing the True-Pivot by pressing. I was attempting to press out the original bearings and instead of the bearing moving the ear of the swingarm bent in. I believe it will require replaceing due to alignment issues with transmisson and rear wheel.

Does anyone have a part number and idea of price?

Picture attached.

What did you try to press it out with? Arbor press? That thing is trashed. You should be able to flea-bay a replacement.

Like everyone said, don't let it both you. We've all done something simialer at some point.
I wouldn't try to repair it though. New/Used seems cheap enough and you want it exact.....

While you are waiting for the replacement swing arm to be shipped to you from whatever source you went with, you might as well practice on the other side of your old swing arm to ensure you get the procedure correct and aid in not messing up the new one.

Thank you to everyone that responded. Mopar, my hat is off to you dude, that is one hell of a birthday gift you have given me, cant wait till it arrives tomorrow. This forum is really special and on the 15th I plan to become a paying club member, the benifits I have received have far outweighed the cost of club membership. They even sent me an e-mail wishing happy birthday, pretty neat in my book.

Yes I was using an Arbor press from Harbor freight and the pressure it applied was greater than I had expected so soon.

I kinda regret the mistake yet in some ways I dont. I had expected negetive and sarcastic comments to be the majority yet there were none. Instead I had people pulling together to help me in my time of crisis and for that I say thank you. This has turned out to be more than a brother hood of riders waving at each other on the road, instead you helped me out when I was in dire need. Truely a valuable lesson and for that I say thank you. It has been a very good 44th birthday.

Dont feel bad.
One time I was working on a '71 Triumph Bonny trying to replace the rear wheel bearings.Thought at least on one side the bearing had to be pressed out.Took the wheel to work and proceeded to use the 40 ton press.
Had the wheel on there and while pressing,"POP".The damn casting broke and then I saw the bearing was partially retained with a threaded cover!
