Not sure if this is the correct forum but I have a dumb question! Leavin VA riding to Sturgis bike rally excluding fuel how much money a day on an average should I expect to spend for two people? The room is paid for when we arrive!

all depends, do you plan on buying alot of Tshirts? getting stuff to your bike done? gonna eat fancy or at attractions, or brown bag it and mickey d it? you ridingn straight through or stopping? it really depends on your budget, set a budget and then give your self a few extra bucks incase you splurge

I ride on the road a lot. I figure $100. a day including gas. That's a decent room, split 2ways a lot with a bud but often just me, food and gas. I usually don't spend that much but once in a while I go over. You don't have to spend a lot in Sturgis, if your room is paid for already. If you drink beer do it at the Oasis or Gunners, they don't rob you like One eyed Jacks, the Knuckle or the Full Throttle. You can actually eat reasonably there. They have McDonalds, Subway, and the Roadkill Cafe is not overpriced.

Don't go unless you have access to credit or more cash. Bad trip to run out of funds before arriving home. I usually spend over $100.00 a day because I'm out to have a good time with no financial restrictions. I don't always spend that much, but I'm prepared to.

I just averaged a little over $100 a day riding alone on a 2600 mile trip. This did not include any partying or drinking. I always use a credit card for damn near everything and that way I don't have to plan carefully for how much cash to carry.

Planning my first sturgis run this year from Los Angeles to Sturgis. Should be an adventure. 100 a day sounds chill. Basically 1000 dollar vacation not bad. And best of all I'll be on two wheels steadily stumbling.

Denalion22, ever been or is this your first Sturgis? riding up from San Diego this year too, expect about $100.00 a day, 17 days or so up thru Las Vegas, Utah, Yellowstone, Cody then ride into the party, should be a blast, see you on the road.

There are days you can dang near spend $100 a day on drinks LOL. Last year I got my card hacked at a sunglass vendor, never ever had a problem in Sturgis before and have been there 8 times. Not 100% positive it was the vendor but made a purchase there and bang my credit card racked up a ton of charges in Mexico and I hate to sound like a finger pointer but the gal that helped me was hispanic. The card company of course won't tell you anything but they did take care of the charges.

100.00 on drinks easy! Best bet is to buy a bottle or fill a saddlebag with beer and ice ( especially when you go with 5 buddy's and everyone is taking turn buying drinks) goes quick!

mtclassic brings up a very good point, if you have at ATM debit card, use it as a credit card and NOT as an debit card, when they ask "debit or credit" say credit, that way you are protected like any other credit card, if used as and ATM you are SOL
