If you get water into any electrical connection, there is a very good chance your going to blow the fuse.
It does not mater if it is the regular cigarette lighter, lighter adapter, or USB power adapter.
If it gets wet, it will probably blow the fuse.

As christo651 mentioned, you might be better off making your power connection inside the fairing.

I unplug my iPod and GPS when its raining.
But I don't ride a lot in the rain if I can avoid it.

nice setup....i had my garmin 665 on the bars but felt it was awkward. i opted for one by tandy http://www.tandtfabrications.com/ as i didn't like the three pouch bag as the left and right had very little room in them. i run my sirius quite a bit and the main reason i moved it. here are a couple of pics.

Great information on different mounting systems available. I was upset to discover via this thread that the Zumo 660 won't work with the NIM as I've gone that route and have the NIM on hand to install. Oh well....

As we so many times tell our fellow forum newbies to "search" I was pleased to find this a while back.

Just wanted to report I rode her in today with Nuvi attached and wired. Awesome setup and can't wait for my road trip to the FloraBama....

And the Garmin only blocks my OH SO Important temp gauge, full view on fuel.
