I have a 2011 FLHR with all stock everything and after my 1k service my trans started whining in 5th gear when I release the throttle. It doesn't whine in any of the other gears. Has anyone had this problem? If so what was it?
I already dropped it off at the dealership. I was just wondering what the problem could be and how long they would have it. the owner of the HD shop just told me he was gonna have to call HD and get back to me.
I have been told from the dealer when I picked up my 2010 that the gears are cut different in 1st and 5th and they have a whine. I don't hear it in 5th but 1st is quite noticeable and I now know when downshifting what gear I am in.
So before you had the bike serviced no noise & after you get the noise..What tranny fluid did the put in? IMO don't run Syh 3 run a real trans type oil I run Redline ShockProof in my 11. There are a lot out there to choose from. Let us know what the problem was. Good Luck
