Should have decent weather later this weekend. I'll take her out for a ride and then hit it with my infrared temperature meter and post the results. I have a 2010 w/cat, so i'm guessing it'll be pretty hot.

my local powder coater told me that powder coat will not hold up on heat shields. he said he has tried as he is a harley rider and said he would love to be able to provide the service but said it needs to be ceramic coated. He said he has did his own with no good luck.

we coat shields all the time! no problem at all! there is over a 75% temp diff between your pipe and shield, if you do a search this has come up a few times. as long as your bike is tuned righ... reg powder holds up just fine. mine are going on 3 years now with a built motor. we coat them all the time, only an issue if your bike is running very lean. but then your shields are the least of your worry!
with propper prep they are fine. there is over 80 sets of our shields our there on bikes now

Ceramic coat the headpipe, you wont have any problem with painted sheilds.

Do you know how many times I have paged through the HD parts book and never seen that set?

Thanks! I think I will just go with this and won't have to worry about $hit flaking off-

Glad I could help. They are pretty resonably priced too. Good luck. Hope this MN spring weather gets better soon. We got snow up in Duluth yesterday.
